Annual Founder's Day Event
MEMORIES OF 1968
took place at the No Exit Cafe.
1968 was a tumultuous year in modern American political history, particularly Chicago's, and the residents of Rogers Park and West Ridge played an important role in the year's events. Many came to share their memories of that time.
We heard first hand reports of the downtown conflict, saw photos, campaign buttons, and other souvenirs on display, and some members sporting clothes of the era (they still fit!).
We enjoyed light refreshments and conversation with our neighbors & community leaders, and were well entertained by our talented office manager and her equally talented husband, playing songs of the era.
