What follows is a merged compilation of the descriptions from the house tours.

This multi-gabled Queen Anne House is one of the few left in the Rogers Park neighborhood with its facade almost fully intact. It contains stick style and shingle-style details. At the turn of the 20th Century, the area would have been filled with homes like this, painted colorfully and highly embellished. Unfortunately, many homes have lost their intricate carving and shingle work due to changing tastes, so it is particularly special to view an intact example. The beautiful details of the facade and the second story's large support brackets with a sunburst design are a treat to the eye.

The full front porch has a pediment with carved sunburst motif. Tuscan columns and dentil molding under the eaves. A three-light bay is on the porch right. Two small pents, superimposed onto the main gable are clad in saw-tooth shingles and are supported by ornate foliate brackets. The framing on the windows and corners of the house are reminiscent of the stick-style. The south gable has paired windows separated by a columnette and surrounded by wooden butt shingles.

The entrance still has its original oak door to the vestibule, then a second door takes you into the foyer with is paneled in golden oak. The antique furniture in this room is in keeping with the decor and bay windows make for light rooms in this house.

The inside of the home contains the classic Victorian first floor layout--double parlors, dining room, kitchen, and a large open staircase. All of the oak staircase elements are original, including the delicate, floriated newel posts, turned spindles, and wainscoting. The staircase has two landings. While the fireplace in the north parlor corner is not original, the location is. Substantial oak moldings can be found throughout the house, refinished to their original golden color.

The back of the house has changed dramatically, with new French doors in the dining room that lead to a back yard deck, as well as a recently expanded kitchen. Remodeling has also taken place on the second floor, where you will find three large bedrooms and two baths. An office adjoining the master bedroom has had its ceiling height raised to a dramatic 16 feet. A new master bath, a walk-in closet and dressing room were added at the same time.
