Colm Treacy emigrated from Ireland some 30 years ago (circa 1984).
Colm Treacy is the present (2014) owner of The Glenwood Bar, and, was the owner of the now-closed bars including T's Bar and Sofo Bar in Uptown, Sidecar Bar (now Rogers Park Social) and MorseL Restaurant (now Bullhead Cantina).
In April 2013, long-time manager and part-owner Renee Labrana left The Glenwood Bar following a dispute with Treacy, leading some once-regulars to boycott the bar. Renee Labrana soon after opened bar and restaurant R Public House in Jarvis Square.
