Began in railroad office work, 1882, continuing until 1890;

engaged in printing business in Cleveland, Ohio, 1890-2;

removed to Chicago and was manager of printing dept. of W.B. Conkey & Company, Hammond, Indiana, until 1903;

became connected with the Blakely Printing Company, as vice president and manager, 1906; president since 1909.
