education: Master of Arts, St. Ignatius College, 1895; Bachelor of Laws, Chicago Law School, 1897;

married: Isabelle M. Gavin, nee: Isabelle M. White, of Columbus, Ohio, on Wednesday, June 3, 1908.

Began as student of law with Collins, Goodrich, Vincent & Darrow in 1895,

and after dissolution of firm was with Goodrich, Vincent & Bradley, 1895-7;

admitted to Illinois Bar, 1897, and

engaged in practice with Armand F. Teefy until 1900;

then practiced alone;

in general practice with Theodore C. Mayer, as Gavin & Mayer, 1907-12;

practiced alone since 1912.

Member: American Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association, Illinois Lawyer's Association, American Irish Historical Society.

Democrat.

Catholic.

Member: Knights of Columbus, Chicago Lodge Elks.

Clubs: Mitchell Club, Evanston Country Club.

Lecturer on general subjects, in leading cities of the country;

contributor of special articles to old Chicago Chronicle, and has written for leading magazines, usually under pen name.
