George Grant Elmslie Architect

George Grant Elmslie (Sunday, February 20, 1869 – Wednesday, April 23, 1952) was an American, though born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, Prairie School Architect whose work is mostly found in the Midwestern United States. He worked with Louis Sullivan and later with William Gray Purcell as a partner in the firm Purcell & Elmslie.


George Grant Elmslie was purported to have provided design help to Sinclair Seaton, a building contractor, the original owner of 1404 W. Jarvis Avenue in 1912.

This Apartment Building was included in the 1994 Annual Fall House Tour.
