Gerald C. Cudahy, (1891-1945), was a son of the late John "Jack" Cudahy, of meat-packing fame. He was killed when his rented car hit the rear of an Army bus on Skokie Boulevard just south of Sunset Ridge Road in Northbrook.

Gerald Cudahy Killed; Drives Auto into Bus
Gerald C. Cudahy, 54, (1891-1945), of the Ambassador East Hotel, an insurance broker, was killed last night when the rented car he was driving struck the rear of an Army bus in Skokie Boulevard, just south of Sunset Ridge Road in Northbrook, Illinois.
Edward Hinks and Robert Trinski, Illinois State Highway Patrolmen, said the bus, empty except for the driver had blown a tire and was pulling off the road when Cudahy's car struck it.
Cudahy, a nephew of E.A. Cudahy Jr., 2430 Lakeview Avenue, president of the Cudahy Packing Company, was a broker with Marsh and McLennan, Inc. insurance firm at 16 W. Jackson Boulevard. He was the son of the late John "Jack" Cudahy, former member of the Chicago Board of Trade.
He is survived by two sisters in Santa Barbara, California, Mrs. Vincent Walsh and Miss Elizabeth Cudahy.
An inquest will be held at 10:00 a.m. today, Monday, September 24, 1945, at 1573 Maple Avenue, Evanston.
