James Bailey Jessop, wholesale fish;

born in: Sandwich, Ontario, Canada, on Monday, June 23, 1851;

son of: of James Jessop and Mary Jessop, nee: Mary Ryan

education: common schools at Sandwich, Ontario, Canada;

married: Julia Frances Jessop, nee: Julia Frances Harris, of Sandwich, Ontario, Canada, on Tuesday, April 25, 1876;

children: Elenora B. Jessop (Mrs. John A. Kleine); Catherine J. Jessop, (Mrs. Charles Siegmund); Theodore Charles Jessop; Sydney Thomas Jessop; Cordelia Grace Jessop.

In fish business since boyhood, and since 1872, trading representative for the largest fish concerns in the country;

resident of Chicago since 1890; has direct connections with extensive lake and ocean fisheries;

organized the Canadian Lakes Fishing Company, Limited, of which is general manager;

company operates on 7 of the largest lakes in Northwestern Canada.

Member: Columbian Knights, National Union Club.

Recreations: canoeing, yachting.
