Entered service of Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway as a boy, 1884, with which has since remained;

telegraph operator and train dispatcher, 1890-1903;

trainmaster, 1903-6;

division superintendent, 1906-13;

assistant to the general manager, 1913-17,

and assistant general manager since July 5, 1917.
