Potter Palmer (Saturday, May 20, 1826 – Sunday, May 4, 1902) was an American businessman who was responsible for much of the development of State Street in Chicago. Born in Albany County, New York, he was the fourth son of Benjamin Palmer and Rebecca Palmer, nee: Rebecca Potter.
