Robert D. Arnow Soundex Code A650 (1913-1972) was a Lieutenant on the Chicago Police Department and a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Military Police. He lived at 2126 W. Touhy Avenue. He later moved to 2229 W. Greenleaf Avenue. Bob was also one of Chicago's best known ceramists.

Along with his wife Edna, Bob had a ceramics studio at 1405 W. Lunt Avenue. Their work was shown at the Art Institute of Chicago and they won recognition throughout the midwest.

Arnow served in the U.S. Army on active duty from 1943-1947. He retired in 1968 with the rank of Lt. Colonel.

Bob retired from the Chicago Police Department after 27 years of service in 1969 with the rank of Lieutenant.

Bob Arnow and his wife Edna had two daughters, Maureen Banner (born in 1946) and Patricia (born in 1949), and a son, Michael (born in 1947) who attended Lane Technical High School. Bob also had a brother, Harold who lives in San Francisco.

Artistic talent permeated the Arnow family. Daughter Maureen designed jewelry, pottery, and some nifty hanging brass lamps. Daughter Pat was a photographer. Maureen's husband does brass work. Harold was a photographer. Daughter Pat's partner, Susan Shimansky, designs jewelry.
