About Rogers Park Business Alliance (RPBA)

The Rogers Park Business Alliance is a 501c3, formed in 1993 as the result of a merger of three organizations. Rogers Park Business Alliance works in the areas of business, community and economic development. The organization employs a professional staff and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, composed of local business owners, residents, institutional representatives and other stakeholders.

Mission: Rogers Park Business Alliance cultivates and sustains a thriving economic environment in Rogers Park, serving businesses and residents.

Vision and Values: Our vision is to lead the way in showing the City of Chicago and the nation that balanced development is possible. Rogers Park will be the model for an advanced and sophisticated form of community development that values diversity, has defined it, planned for it and achieved development projects that serve all constituencies. Rogers Park will be a destination for people who seek a harmoniously diverse neighborhood, rich in arts and culture, in which to live, work, play and raise a family. Located on the far north side of Chicago near Evanston, Rogers Park offers complete access to mass transit, top educational institutions, Lake Michigan beaches, full recreational amenities and a diversity of businesses and people.

As a means to improving Rogers Park through business, community and economic development, Rogers Park Business Alliance engages in numerous activities: marketing, location, networking, and technical assistance to area businesses and entrepreneurs. Prospective business owners are encouraged to work with Rogers Park Business Alliance before opening their business in Rogers Park for business plan reviews, access to market information and lender referrals and assistance with permitting, license and leasing issues.

Rogers Park Business Alliance has led planning efforts on Morse Avenue, Howard Street, Western Avenue, and Sheridan Road. The resulting plans [Commercial Corridor Plan for Howard Street and Morse Avenue and Devon/Sheridan TIF District Design Guidelines and Vision Plan] have served as a blueprint for development on those corridors. Rogers Park Business Alliance places great emphasis on community leadership and involvement in planning processes, often working with community-based steering committees composed of residents, business owners and other stakeholders.

Rogers Park Business Alliance administers three Special Service Areas offering beautification, façade rebate programs, technical assistance, and street cleaning to Clark/Morse/Glenwood SSA #24, Howard Street SSA #19 and Sheridan Road SSA #54.
