S.M. Moore was president of the newly reorganized Chicago Board of Underwriters.
The board was reorganized on Thursday, February 22, 1872.
This was done following the Great Chicago Fire.
Other officers were:
General A.C. Ducat, vice-president
J. Goodwin, Jr., treasurer,
Alfred Wright, secretary.
